6 Early Warning Signs Of Ovarian Cancer Diseases

signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer
Often referred to as the “silent killer,” Ovarian cancer is universally feared as it presents very few symptoms.  By the time it’s noticeable, it’s usually too late, with only 20% of cases being detected early enough to treat.
Thankfully, the disease isn’t invisible.  Here are six early warning signs to watch out for.

1. A Swollen Stomach
Ovarian cancer causes internal inflammation, which can become visible.  Of course, there are many reasons for a swollen stomach, such as Burger King, being a couch potato, or receiving a visit from the stork.  Only be concerned if you’re ballooning for no reason.

 by JOY OKON

For those that are not familiar with the 'vampire diaries' series, a werewolf transformation is excruciatingly painful. When you sit, you experience the same thing. Even when you lie in bed, same thing occurs. Welcome to the pleasures of lower-back pain.

According to the American Chiropractic Association, four out of five people endure lower-back pain at some point in their lives. It can hang around for a few days or months, and even years. Such fun times eh. Some culprits are involved.

Common culprits include:
·         Exercise mishaps
·         Muscle strains
·         Postural changes during pregnancy, and
·         Bulging or herniated discs says Dr Jennifer Solomon, MD, a board certified physiatrist at hospital for Special Surgery in NYC.

THE MOUTH-BODY CONNECTION

By Joy Okon

Normally, an endocrinologist will assume two times earlier than sending A patient to a gum expert. Yep, you read proper, a gum Specialist. Now the query is, what has one got to do with the opposite? I'll let you know.

FOCAL SEGMENTAL GLOMERULOSCLEROSIS

Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a disease in which scar tissue develops on the glomeruli of the kidney.

To allow for better understanding, it is best to breakdown these words:

Focal: means that only some of the kidneys’ glomeruli have been damaged, while some are still normal.

Glomerulo: A structure in the kidney. The glomeruli refers to the clusters of tiny blood vessels in the kidneys that filter waste and harmful substances from the blood. Each kidney has thousands of glomeruli.

Sclerosis: refers to scarring.

FSGS is most often idiopathic (of unknown cause), but can be caused by a variety of conditions such as the use of heroin or other drugs, HIV infection, obesity, sickle cell disease, atheroembolic disease, nephron loss, inherited genetic problems, and some medicines.

SELF CPR TO SURVIVE HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a lifesaving technique useful in many emergencies, including heart attack or near drowning, in which someone's breathing or heartbeat has stopped.
It is recommended that everyone — untrained bystanders and medical personnel alike — should learn how to do CPR.

It's far better to know something, at least, than know nothing at all if you're fearful that your knowledge or abilities won't be 100 percent complete.

Remember, the difference between your doing something and doing nothing could be someone's life.

What if it becomes the case where you are the victim, then what happens? How will you save yourself?

Let’s say it’s about 7.25pm and you’re going home (alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job. You’re really tired, upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up in to your jaw. You are only about five km from the hospital nearest your home.

WORMS; WHERE DO THEY FALL IN OUR SYSTEM?

In my early years on earth, growing up, the issue of worms and deworming was a common thing. Virtually every child in the neighbourhood had his/her own issue to deal with. We were almost all affected.

But after my first and second year in Med school, in all my basic anatomy and physiology classes, it was just as if the word 'worms' was missing in every lecturer's dictionary, nobody mentioned it, not even once.

I began to wonder; then where do those worms belong? Where have they come from? These questions are what have led to putting down this write-up.

First of all, especially for parents, it is pertinent to know that worms are NOT an integral part of the human system. This fact needs to be established before we proceed. Your child having worms IS NOT a normal thing, as most parents have been made to believe.

HELP!!! MY SON HAS BREASTS, WHAT CAN I DO???

Before we start at all, please don't be afraid. The fact that your son has/is developing breasts doesn't mean he's turning a girl or going gay. Something else is involved, so you can put your mind at rest while you carefully go through this.

It is very obvious and which is what you know that it isn't only your son that is going through this same thing. It is estimated that about half (or a little more than) of all males during puberty (or going through puberty) experience this same thing to some degree. More reason why you shouldn't panic.

KIDNEY DISEASES; SALIENT THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW (I).

Much about the kidney has been said in the HAVE YOUR KIDNEYS BEEN HIDING FROM YOU? article.

The kidneys help to perform several life-sustaining roles: they cleanse your blood by removing waste and excess fluid, maintain the balance of salt and minerals in your blood, and help regulate blood pressure.

BUT WHY SHOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT KIDNEY DISEASES?

It is paramount that we keep emphasizing this. Why? Five Reasons:

#1: Some kidney diseases are particularly dangerous, because you may not have any symptoms until considerable, often irreparable, damage has occurred.

CARDIOMEGALY (Enlarged Heart). . .

This is not the case as when someone is said to have a big heart. This kind of 'generosity' can be dangerous to one's health and also life threatening.

Not to scare you, Cardiomegaly isn't a disease. It is a symptom of underlying problem(s) that is causing the heart to work harder than normal.

The heart is an organ made up of contractile muscles. Coordinated contractions of these muscle helps propel blood out of the atria and ventricles to the blood vessels, and other parts of the body.

Cardiomegaly is one of the most common types of cardiomyopathy (disease of the heart muscle).

HAVE YOUR KIDNEYS BEEN HIDING FROM YOU?

When we mention the word KIDNEY, it's probably no news to us, we know what that is. But let me challenge your knowledge a little. What if I say you know little or nothing about your kidney, would I be wrong? Would I be right?
LET'S FIND OUT. . .

It's of 'popular' believe among the non-medically oriented that the kidney is just one other organ, somehow somewhere within the abdominal cavity. But that's not it. The kidneys are way beyond this.

NOW, STRAIGHT TO THE FACTS. . .
