6 Early Warning Signs Of Ovarian Cancer Diseases

signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer
Often referred to as the “silent killer,” Ovarian cancer is universally feared as it presents very few symptoms.  By the time it’s noticeable, it’s usually too late, with only 20% of cases being detected early enough to treat.
Thankfully, the disease isn’t invisible.  Here are six early warning signs to watch out for.

1. A Swollen Stomach
Ovarian cancer causes internal inflammation, which can become visible.  Of course, there are many reasons for a swollen stomach, such as Burger King, being a couch potato, or receiving a visit from the stork.  Only be concerned if you’re ballooning for no reason.

HIV/AIDS AND OPPORTUNISTIC INFECTIONS

hiv aids diseases

The reason people are advised to go for early check-up, and even after testing positive to HIV, are asked to begin treatments (antiretroviral therapy) as soon as possible is to shut the doors on "opportunistic infections".

Opportunistic infections in this context are like scavengers, who only prey on weakened or about-to-die preys.

Opportunistic infections are infections caused either by bacterial, viral, fungal, or protozoan pathogens that take advantage of a host with a weakened immune system (caused by HIV infection) or an altered microbiota (such as a disrupted gut flora).

Antiretroviral therapy is all about managing HIV infection, and preventing the body from opportunistic infections, which in the end, leads to AIDS.

Most life-threatening opportunistic infections occur when the person’s CD4 count is very low (below 200 cells/mm).

HOW HIV/AIDS KILLS. . .

                                      hiv aids diseases

The HIV/AIDS is a very deadly disease, this is a known fact, but there remains something that's still unknown to quite a good number of people, and that is how HIV/AIDS kill.

Have you ever wondered how HIV/AIDS kill?

Okay, let me go over this again, with a little addition. . .

The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infects cells of the immune system, destroying or impairing their function. Infection with this virus results in progressive deterioration of the immune system, leading to "immune deficiency."

The immune system is considered deficient when it can no longer fulfill its role of fighting infection and disease.

To make you understand this better. . .

In our bodies, there are many harmful micro-organisms, germs, bacteria, protozoa, fungi, and viruses. When our immune system is working well (not deficient), it helps to fight these germs. But when the immune system is weakened by HIV (or by some medications), these germs can get out of control and cause health problems.

Blood Test Could Give Early Breast Cancer Warning

Scientists say they’ve created a blood test that can predict whether a woman will get breast cancer several years before the disease shows up.

The technique, which involves measuring compounds in the blood, is still in its early stages. But in the long run it could help people with the disease get treated sooner, and help doctors show women at risk how to lower their odds of getting it.

Researchers at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark say the new test can predict breast cancer’s onset 2 to 5 years in advance with 80% accuracy. That’s compared to mammograms, which can spot the disease itself with 75% accuracy.

CASSAVA A 'POSSIBLE' TOOL IN THE TREATMENT OF CANCER

The cassava plant is a staple crop in Africa, Asia, and South America. Different parts of the plant such as the root, leaves, and sometimes the whole plant, are used in herbal remedies.

There is NO convincing scientific evidence that cassava is effective in preventing or treating cancer. However, some researchers have proposed an idea that might eventually lead to treatments that use an enzyme from the cassava plant. This approach has not been scientifically tested.

HOW IS IT PROMOTED FOR USE?

In folk medicine, the cassava plant is promoted for treating snakebites, boils, diarrhea, flu, hernia, inflammation, conjunctivitis, sores, and several other problems including cancer.

SUPERBUGS TO 'KILL MORE THAN CANCER BY 2050.

The BBC is reporting on a study by KPMG and Rand Europe that antibiotic resistant ‘superbugs’ will kill more people than cancer by 2050 unless a solution on eradicating them is found.

From the BBC:

In Europe and the United States, antimicrobial resistance causes at least 50,000 deaths each year, they said. And left unchecked, deaths would rise more than 10-fold by 2050.

The increase and spread of superbugs is something that will affect every facet of our lives. Once again people will be dying of infections that until recently could be dealt with by a course of tablets.

Risk factors, prevention and treatment of Male breast cancer......

It is not known for certain what causes the cells in the breast to become cancerous. However, a number of risk factors for male breast cancer have been identified:

OESTROGEN LEVEL

About 85% of breast cancers in men have oestrogen receptors on their cell membranes. Oestrogen receptors on the cell membranes allow oestrogen molecules to bind to the cancer cells. Oestrogen binding to
the cancer cells stimulates cell growth and multiplication.

KLINEFELTER'S SYNDROME

Klinefelter's syndrome is where baby boys are born with much higher levels of estrogen than normal. Klinefelter's syndrome is a major risk factor for male breast cancer because men with the condition are 20
times more likely to develop male breast cancer than the male population at large.

Types, Signs and Symptoms of Male breast cancer.

Male breast cancer, unlike the female breast cancer, is a very rare disease and, comes in different forms. The following are the types of breast cancer are found in men:

INFILTRATING DUCTAL CARCINOMA: Cancer that has spread beyond the cells lining ducts in the breast. Most men with breast cancer have this type of cancer.

DUCTAL CARCINOMA IN SITU: Abnormal cells that are found in the lining of a duct; also called intraductal carcinoma.

INFLAMMATORY BREAST CANCER: A type of cancer in which the breast looks red and swollen and feels warm.

MALE BREAST CANCER; Be AWARE, and BEWARE. . .

The causes of breast cancer aren't fully understood yet, and this makes it difficult to tell how one person may develop breast cancer and another may not. However, there are some risk factors that increase the tendency of someone developing breast cancer. These include:

Understanding Breast Cancer through sign and symptoms.

Breast cancer cells don't remain where the grow, they also spread to other surrounding cells, but with early detection and treatment, most people continue a normal life. How do you do this?

In its early stages, breast cancer usually has no symptoms, but as the tumor develops, you may note the following signs:

* A lump in the breast or underarm that persists after the menstrual cycle. This is often the first apparent symptom of breast cancer. Lumps associated with breast cancer are usually painless, although some may cause a prickly sensation. Lumps are usually visible on a mammogram long before they can be seen or felt.

* Swelling in the armpit.
