WHY HAVE WE FORGOTTEN SO SOON?

Today makes it 289 days since the abduction of 273 school girls - Chibok, northern Nigeria - by the terrorist sect, Boko Haram.

At the nick of things, it was like a soon-ending battle, because of the international attention the insurgency brought itself. If a 'jupiter' had said it was going to take this long, even a just-forming foetus would have laughed at him, "better go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to perfect your skills".
I remember vividly, all the banners, posters, fliers, bills and billboards, cardboards, prints, visual and social media, how they all went about, bearing the 'hashtag-BringBackOurGirls'; the Queen of England, the first lady of the United States, amongst other world dignitaries, were also not left out of this.

"BUT WHY HAVE WE FORGOTTEN SO SOON???. . ."

Imagine your sister was one of them; or your cousin, aunt, or niece, will you be this quiet?

Imagine your daughter(s) in the den of terrorists - abductors, slaughterers, rapists - will you fold your arms, sit in your chair, pop a can of coke, and gist about the African Cup of Nations, the Premier League , or argue over the coming elections? You say, "God forbid".

These girls' lives are endangered; they are dying gradually - physically, and worst of all, mentally and emotionally - everyday. At their tender ages, they've been exposed to such act of physical violence, sexual abuse, maltreatment, psychological and mental degradation.

They're going through a very bad traumatic experience, constantly, because of our sudden silence; everyone has gone to lay on his bed; only a few still think and talk about them.

"DO YOU REALLY CARE???. . ."

Do you know what passes through the bodies, eyes and minds of these girls, each minute you are wound up in sleep?

What steps have you taken? How many prayer sessions have you observed? How many fasts have you had, to see our girls return back home?

Yes, you're not abducted, but let me tell you, YOU ARE AFFECTED.

It's them today, could be you, your sister, aunt, or daughter tomorrow. If an end is put to this today, you'll have no cause for worries. But as things still stand, you have every cause to be worried - be you in any part of the world - there is the ISIS, Talibans, and so on.

Do you really care???

WE DO, even if you don't.
