Much about the kidney has been said in the HAVE YOUR KIDNEYS BEEN HIDING FROM YOU? article.
The
kidneys help to perform several life-sustaining roles: they cleanse
your blood by removing waste and excess fluid, maintain the balance of
salt and minerals in your blood, and help regulate blood pressure.
BUT WHY SHOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT KIDNEY DISEASES?
It is paramount that we keep emphasizing this. Why? Five Reasons:
#1:
Some kidney diseases are particularly dangerous, because you may not
have any symptoms until considerable, often irreparable, damage has
occurred.
#2:
When one kidney is damaged, the other takes the job of the two upon
itself. This is SERIOUSLY DECEPTIVE AND DANGEROUS, in the sense that,
you'll be 'fooled' to thinking you're still fine, whereas the whole roof
is about to come down.
#3:
One kidney CANNOT successfully perform the functions of two for too
long, ESPECIALLY when you're not aware. You don't take extra care, you
still maintain your normal lifestyle, and soon everything will sum up on
the last man standing. And once both are down, the WHOLE body is on its
way down.
#4:
On a personal (not medical) thought, NO solution to kidney disease(s)
is best. They're either EXPENSIVE or TEMPORARY, and requires GREAT DEAL
of management.
#5:
For those thinking of kidney transplants, reflect to #3. Kidney
transplant IS NOT the best option. But if it comes to it, it requires
great deal of management.
I'm VERY sure you don't want to let it get to this before you start acting.
