We have all heard it - even if it's in our dream - 'health is wealth'.
Good health is happiness. Healthy individuals make very good valentine
couples. So how's your plan like to surprise that special person?
I trust you must have had a lot of things in mind, but as you plan, and
as you set out - guys and girls - adding these to the list of gifts you
want to get isn't such a bad idea (in fact, you'll come back to say
thank you).
Nah!, your guess was not as good as mine - no one's talking about love
pills here - we're talking about some things way more special.
1. A PACK OF BERRIES:Berries are about the best valentine gift you can give to your partner (if you really love him or her). Now, don't give me that face, berries don't cost much, and they do exceedingly, abundantly, and beyond what you can think or imagine (lols).
To start with, berries are rich in antioxidants, low in fat, rich in manganese, blessed with Vitamins, packed with anthocyanins (especially blue berries), minerals and lots more.
Berries help fight cancerous cells around the body, boosts brain health, fight bacterial infections, improve heart health, and prevents cardiovascular diseases, etc (topic for some other day).
Aside all these, how on earth will you want your lovely partner to miss the sweetness of berries that day (it's February 14, remember?!).
2. A BOX OF CHOCOLATE:
Yes I know, you must have read a lot on chocolates; it causes this, it
causes that. But chocolates may not be that 'bad' as you think. At
least, it's still got some goodies for ya (not sugar this time).
A recent discovery of biologically active phenolic compounds in cocoa
has it that chocolates have tremendous antioxidant properties. So taking
chocolates (low quantity) helps to lower cholesterol levels, prevent
cognitive memory decline, and reducing the risk of heart diseases and
cardiovascular problems.
If you don't want your boo overweight, trust me, a box will do. Another
thing is this: this is not an option for the old pals. There is research
suggesting that chocolate may lead to poor bone structure and
osteoporosis, especially in older women.
3. ROSE FLOWER OR ROSE PRODUCTS:
Now, this is no fairy tale, and this one especially goes to the guys.
Roses are about the most favorite flower of girls all around the world.
The sight and smell of a rose alone can instantly brighten their mood.
Roses and rose products (e.g rose water, rose distillate, rose
essential oil, rosehip seed oil, etc) have anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant,
and anti-inflammatory properties. Roses help to fight acne, eczema,
skin irritation and redness. They help protect the skin cells from sun
damage. They help in maintaining overall skin health.
Rosewater or Rosetea can help reduce depression and anxiety. Helps to
strengthen the digestive tract and the stomach lining. It aids in
eliminating toxic waste in both the small and large intestines. Helps in
fighting infections of internal organs of the body, Promotes
circulation and prevents heart-related diseases.
4. CAKES MAY NOT BE GOOD IDEA:
This is probably the most thing couples give to each other on valentine's day. Cakes may satisfy your tongue but not your body.
Cakes are often loaded with carbohydrates, fats and sugar, which may
make you put on weight, and increase your blood glucose level. The
margarine or butter which is been used in cakes may raise your blood
cholesterol levels.
The dyes in some cakes are been used for colouring purposes, and may
cause digestion related problems (especially dangerous to allergic
people). And Some type of cakes induce sleepiness, numbness and
weakness.
While some cakes may not be good, there are still some that are
beneficial, e.g carrot cakes, chocolate cakes (with very low sugar),
etc. That's if you must get your partner a cake.
5. SPICE IT UP WITH A NICE OUTING:
To crown it all, a nice outing, believe you me, is the best you can give.
Oxytocin, an hormone secreted in the body, is what increases the
attraction and bond between people in a relationship. That's why it's
called the Love hormone.
Studies have found that this hormone tends to be released more when
closely together with someone you love (especially when you make them
happy or they make you happy).
A visit to a cinema, film or comedy show, could be very great outing
ideas. You guys get to laugh and smile more, and at some points, break
into emotional zones.
This has very great positive effects on your overall well-being; your
brains are cool, hearts relaxed, hands clocked, blood pumping normal, no
freight (except for cinema fee, lols. But trust you'll find that now),
and the love is increasing (love hormone at work).
But if I must say; A PACK OF BERRIES + A BOX OF CHOCOLATE + ROSE FLOWER
or ROSE PRODUCTS - CAKES + NICE OUTING = THAT SPECIAL LOVE PILL.
It's the season of love, enjoy it to the fullest.
Be health wise.
Be health wise.
